You gotta be gay if you want to teach DADA, I don't make the rules.
lyrics
Defense Against the Dark Arts, some say the teacher’s cursed
Fired after just one year, retired, dead, or worse
There’s just one requirement to teach DADA:
That you are into other guys - in other words, you’re gay
Quirrell was gay with Voldemort, we know that much is true
Spending every day and night alone with You-Know-Who
Sadly their relationship did not last all that long
When Harry Potter touched his face, Quirrell was dead and gone
Defense Against the Dark Arts, some say the teacher’s cursed
Fired after just one year, retired, dead, or worse
There’s just one requirement to teach DADA:
That you are into other guys - in other words, you’re gay
Lockhart used to be in charge of every Pride parade
Up until the point some students found out his charade
He lives in St Mungo’s now and every single year
He decorates his room with flags and makes it super queer
Defense Against the Dark Arts, some say the teacher’s cursed
Fired after just one year, retired, dead, or worse
There’s just one requirement to teach DADA:
That you are into other guys - in other words, you’re gay
Lupin, everybody knows, was dating Sirius Black
Sirius fell through the veil and never made it back
Lupin helped fight in the war and ultimately died
When it came to who he loved he always shone with pride
Defense Against the Dark Arts, some say the teacher’s cursed
Fired after just one year, retired, dead, or worse
There’s just one requirement to teach DADA:
That you are into other guys - in other words, you’re gay

This is a wildly uneven, unpredictable collection. And that is as it should be. From spoken word to rap to singer/songwriter acoustic to hard rock, this has at least one song for everyone. John Gaunt
The second EP from Northern Irish singer-songwriter Bea Stewart runs from gentle folk to pillowy pop ballads, all perfectly executed. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 15, 2024

A gorgeous second album that holds up well to the high standard set by the first. The sweet love songs are back, along with an ode to Ron Weasley, a gorgeous metawrock song (and I'm not usually a big fan of metawrock), a couple of spiritual successors to songs from the debut album and one of my favourite DH Chapter 34 songs ever, among other gems. The fact that Avery is a songwriting genius cannot be understated. yourwizardrockresource
